Artists of the Year 2020
Sydney Rose
I discovered Sydney Rose at the tail end of 2019 and started playing her single "Broken Wing" a few months before it was released. Throughout the year Sydney Rose has released some terrific music, including her debut EP, All I Want to Say. She has a positive outlook on all things and she is the type of artist that i wish I could interview every week as she always has something exciting going on. She is a star on the rise and I look forward to watching her take off.
Marshall Holland
Marshall Holland released the electronic album Nice to Meet You in early 2020 and quickly followed it with the wonderful Paper Airplane. When he reached out to me mid-summer about the release of the single "Paper Airplane," I was excited to hear more music from him. The single started getting airplay instantly and when the album followed in September things really took off. Marshall Holland was a big help with our Jingle Bells project by creating our artwork as well as contributing his own re-writing of the holiday classic.
Song That Touched Me the Most
Clay Howard - Free to Fly Away (never lose sight)
This song was sent to me right as I was laid off from my job. The lyrics grabbed me in a way that day that it felt as if it was written for what I was going through. Listening to this song got me through some very emotional days.
