All I Want to Say

I first became aware of Sydney Rose in late 2019 through Facebook and I was particularly taken by the power in her voice. I reached out to her and found out that she had recently recorded a single entitled “Broken Wing” and I was lucky enough to give the song its radio debut months before release.

On September 25, 2020 Sydney Rose will release her debut EP, All I Want to Say. A collection of well-crafted songs that showcase the talents of an exceptional up and coming artist. The title track is an upbeat and positive look at dealing with life’s ups and downs. Wise beyond her years, Sydney Rose advises “There’s more to life than what others think about you” as her melody wraps around an arrangement that is both catchy and memorable.

With “Bad” she continues to show her strength of heart as she points out to the antagonist that no matter what is done to her, she will stand tall. “I’d rather be a square than a loser.” The subtle guitar lines really keep the groove going while not overshadowing the magnificent vocals.

Perhaps my favorite track on the EP is the acoustic “Why.” Featuring solo vocals by Sydney Rose, a sole acoustic guitar and a beautiful hint of strings and piano, the song examines what one would do when loves meets obstacles at every turn. You’ll find yourself in her shoes and feeling what she is going through.

All I Want to Say is a solid debut from this rising star and we should all look forward to watching her career move onward and upward.
